Cute Japanese Girl Slips in the Snow
You really have to appreciate how positive this girl is about the snow that recently hit Tokyo. This Japanese high school girl got caught on camera on her way home from cram school.
She slips, loses her shoe, slips again, and still seems to be loving the rare winter wonderland around her.
Unfortunately, it looks like the video has been taken down 🙁
Association of Copyright for Computer Software? I think 20 seconds of a live tv broadcast is fair use. I guess YouTube Japan will just acquiesce to any claim…
I checked the homepage for the ACCS and it seems companies pay them between 2 and 5 thousand dollars a year to police the internet looking for any infringement of copyright. It’s not worth fighting over a 20 second long video of a girl falling in the snow, but I think that companies employing the ACCS are misinforming companies about the big picture… that exposure is a good thing, and for a short piece of video that will probably never be sold or monetized again, that exposure is more than worth it.
I guess the ACCS has to justify the money it charges by listing how many “illegal” videos were taken down, but I hope I find some time this month to look up fair use laws in Japan just in case I decide to upload some short excerpts myself someday.
Here’s a link to the ACCS page in Japanese (the English one is sparse) just in case anyone wants to see what I’m talking about.

Anyway, I’ll see if I can find the video again because it is cute and funny, and does no harm to the original network that broadcast it.
That being said, I found another version of it and re-embedded it above… this version strangely masks the girls face until the close-up and interview… weird.
