Very Hungry Caterpillar Google Logo For Japan

Today is a Japanese national holiday called Spring Day or “Vernal Equinox”. The Japanese name for it is Shumbun no Hi.

It seems that Google Japan has gone with a nice theme that elicits images of Spring and Nature… using Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” as a theme for it’s logo.

I have to say that my favorite part of this is how the second “g” is made by inverting the purple fruit and leaf. The strawberry “e” is a bit of a stretch, but this is really cute. If you want to see it you’re going to have to go to the Japanese version of the Google Japan classic home page… of course you can also see it right up above this paragraph.
