One of the longest running manga in English translation in the US, Ranma 1/2, the unique story of a boy who was cursed to turn into a girl whenever he is wet by cold water. Hot water lets him revert to his original form. (Incidentally, his father turns, not into a girl, but into a giant panda when wet by cold water.) Obviously there is much much more to the story than the few sentences I used above, but it’s worth hearing my over-simplified description and then checking out the manga or anime.
The part of the heroine of the story, Akane Tendo will be played by incredibly popular model and actress Yui Aragaki. The special tv movie drama will be broadcast as a special in December and follow an original story not yet featured in existing anime and manga.
