TLC has decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the song “Waterfalls” by teaming with Japanese pop star Namie Amuro for a version which (in a slight bit of controversy) removes the rapping of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. (Although Left Eye’s estate will benefit from royalties due to her writer’s credit on the song, some family members were reportedly dismayed that they hadn’t been consulted.

I’m sure fans of Namie Amuro AND TLC will love the new track, especially as TLC may have gained some new younger fans in Japan after performing on MTV Japan’s 2013 awards show and receiving a legend award.
